I recently had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic pub, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! As I walked in, I was immediately taken by the warm and inviting atmosphere. I was greeted by friendly staff who were more than happy to assist with recommendations. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive! I decided to try the steak and ale pie, which was nothing short of divine. The flaky pastry encased tender chunks of beef swimming in rich gravy, paired perfectly with creamy mashed potatoes. Also, I couldn’t resist sampling their craft beers, and I was thrilled with the selection. I opted for a local ale that was refreshing and had just the right balance of hoppy bitterness. My only small critique would be the waiting time for food, which was slightly longer than expected, but it was definitely worth it. What a gem of a place! I stumbled across this pub while wandering around the city, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the delightful smell of hearty food and the sound of laughter. I ordered the fish and chips, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've had! The fish was unbelievably fresh, and the batter was perfectly crispy without being greasy. The chips were golden and fluffy on the inside – exactly how I like them! To wash it all down, I opted for a gin and tonic from their extensive drink menu. They use some really high-quality gins, and it showed. The service was also top-notch; my server was attentive without being overbearing, which is always appreciated. If I were to suggest one improvement, it might be to expand the dessert menu a bit. Although the options were tempting, I felt like there could be a few more to choose from.
